BUMIL Introduction

Bogazici University Medical Imaging Laboratory (BUMIL) was established in 2002 as a multidisciplinary research laboratory within the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. Its main research activities are: image guided medical interventions, interventional imaging, neuro- and cardiac MRI.

In spring of 2009, BUMIL moved to the TAM wing of the new BME-TAM building located within the Kandilli Campus of Bogazici University. TAM is a unique multidisiplinary research environment and is funded by National Planning Agency of Turkey (DPT). TAM also aims to facilitate university-industry collaborative projects.

BUMIL is also leading the efforts to constuct a Microsystem Based Medical Device Development Laboratory, a core module of Bogazici University Life Sciences Research Center, which is an important university wide multidisiplinary research effort funded by DPT. This lab is composed of several modular Clean Rooms dedicated for R&D of in vivo medical devices and necessary MEMS and electronics components.
